Wedding Book

Ok, so its not Monica's Wedding book- but I did start my own Wedding book. I got a binder that I had laying around and started tearing out pages from my bridal magazines and organizing the pages behind tabs so everything is all nice and organized. That way when I start visiting vendors in a couple weeks I have a quick fingertip reference to what has caught my eye and what I like. :) Organization people!

On a whim, Jayme and I stopped into Alfred Angelo today while we were out and about. I tried on the dress, and its just perfect. Exactly what I had imagined. I'll have the train permanently bustled, because I don't want to have to deal with it. :)

There are a couple other minor alterations- the sash isn't as long as in the pic, in fact it just wraps around and buttons in the back- no length to it. I'm also ordering it in ivory, and not white. But its just absolutely perfect. Just perfect. :)

Found The Ring!

I've been searching for a ring that won't break the bank, but that I love. Most of the rings I love would break the bank. I love this one because of the sapphires- Both Aaron and I have September birthdays, so its a great sentiment for me.

Cakes

Cakes are the centerpiece of the reception. People always want to see the cake. These are two of my favorite designs. We won't be having a traditional cake topper, we'll either have a fleur de lis, or a monogram. Something we can use after the party as well.

Floral Inspiration.

Add a little more pink to these and they stand out as my #1 choice.
Wrap these in pink ribbon and they would make a stunning bridal bouquet.
I like this one, but its a little to "spring" I think. I think tulips would come at a premium come November.
replace the blue flowers with pink ones, and I like this bouquet as well.

Today was an exciting day for me. I visited my first venue with one of my honorees. (I'm not sure what to call these wonderful ladies that will be standing by my side- I refer to them as my sidekicks- Aaron says IdoRedo-ettes. lol)
Anyway- we visited The Mediterranean Villa. I instantly fell in love. It is everything I'm looking for in a site- but may be a bit pricey- so I'm keeping my options open. We visited during an open house so we were able to sample cakes, food etc, and see the chapel and ballroom all decked out in beautiful decor.
Its a bit early to finalize anything, but as of right now- this venue is #1 on my list. We do have a couple other options as well that we will be checking out soon. Thats my #1 goal is to get the "where" finalized before the end of the year. Now that we live in the metroplex, we have so many more great options available to us. I'm sure we'll find someplace wonderful to have the ceremony and party of our dreams.

Theme/Colors

The past couple of days I've done a lot of thinking on theme and colors.
I know that my neutral color will be brown. Nice deep chocolate brown. I had thought about going with blue and silver as accent colors, but I'm leaning away from that as it will be a fall ceremony.
I'm thinking of accenting with a deep pretty orange with just a hit of pink.
While I don't plan on having a heavy theme- when I think of the look I want. I think romance, delicate romance. With a touch of vintage. I see lace, and delicate flowers.

I am excited about searching for a venue, as we're making a move and will be living in a large city when the time comes- which blows options wide open for us! Very exciting! :)

Details, Details

Now that my brothers wedding is over and they are Mr. & Mrs. I feel I can put my whole heart into planning. Something I realized when I was at their wedding- the details can make or break a party. So now I'm thinking, what kind of details do I want for our ceremony and reception. What look do I want? There's a lot out there- and as Steven and Megan's wedding clearly demonstrated, details can be simple, handmade and still stunning.

Honoree Dresses

I have asked my good friend Lisa to be my honoree for the ceremony. I'm not sure what her responsibilities will be, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. Here are a few dresses she's spotted for herself. :) I'm partial to the one on the top left, and the one on the top row, middle.

Right now this is the cake and bouquet inspiration. Both subject to change- but when browsing photos those are the ones that made me go "thats IT" What do you think?

Early Planning

So since we will have a tight budget, we are planning way in advance.

The following is set in stone:

The date- November 28, 2009
Time- 3pm (the time of our original wedding)

I know that my dress will have lace
I know the color theme will be brown and blue
I know I'm wearing a tiara.

I know that the ceremony will be officiated by our very good friend Charles.
